Kate Middleton Won't Be Making it to That 'Hobbit' Premiere

 

Hopefully Kate Middleton isn't too bummed she'll be missing out on The Hobbit's big red carpet premiere on Wednesday. Less than a week after leaving the hospital, the Duchess still requires some rest. Also in today's celeb news, Nick Cannon and Fergie both revealed intimate details about their relationships, and Lindsay Lohan is facing jail time again. More below.

Kate Middleton to Miss Hobbit Premiere
After canceling a week's worth of scheduled appearances following her hospitalization last week, it was unclear whether Kate Middleton would make it to the London red carpet premiere of The Hobbit. But unfortunately she won't have a chance to partake in the pleasures of Middle Earth on Wednesday.

The Duchess has been suffering the effects of an acute morning sickness known as Hyperemesis Gravidarum. During a weekend appearance, husband Prince William (who will be at the Hobbit premiere as scheduled) joked, "I don't know why they call it morning sickness -- they should call it all day and all night sickness. [Recovery is] a long old process but she is getting there. She feels like it is going to go on forever."

Guess Who Topped Ke$ha's First Week Sales?

 

Given the unrelenting catchiness of Ke$ha's single "Die Young," it's hard to believe her sophomore album Warrior wasn't a smash hit straight out of the gate. While Warrior managed to chart in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 this week, it proved less popular than a handful of older releases — including an album that's been around for a year.

Taylor Swift's Red nabbed the top spot for the fourth non-consecutive week, closely followed by Wiz Khalifa's O.N.I.F.C., which moved 141,000 copies. Rod Stewart's latest collection of mom-friendly holiday standards, Merry Christmas Baby, took the third spot, while One Direction's Live While We're Young held strong at No. 4. In fifth place, Michael Bublé's Christmas proved its staying power, leaving Ke$ha's Warrior the sixth place spot with approximately 85,000 copies sold.

A hit single does not always guarantee strong album sales. Carly Rae Jepsen had the year's most inescapable hit, but her full-length album Kiss debuted at No. 6 with 46,000 copies sold. But don't worry, Animals: With all the airplay it's getting, we expect Warrior to linger on the charts long into 2013.

Jennifer Lopez Combats Engagement Rumors With Her 2002 Hit

Some stars battle wild rumors through their reps, others choose to completely ignore them. Jennifer Lopez opens up her own archives. The singer posted lyrics from her 2002 hit "Jenny from the Block" to cleverly deny she and boyfriend of seven months, Casper Smart, are engaged. "Rumors!!! Don't be fooled by the rocks that I got," she wrote on her website, alongside a picture showing her in a sexy white dress with a naked ring finger.

The lyrics are appropriate for the situation and, perhaps inadvertently, show that she's learned marrying a back-up dancer boyfriend of seven months isn't the best idea. Back when that song came out she was in the process of divorcing her first backup dancer, Cris Judd. The two got married in September 2001 after seven months of dating. By June of the next year, they had called it quits and Lopez was in the process of moving on with Ben Affleck.

Hopefully the singer will give it at least seven more months before embarking on her fourth marriage...

Kelly, who last dated Yankees slugger Derek Jeter, hasn't commented on the rumors. But she did retweet an Instagram photo the actor posted online, and what would you know, both her and Valderrama appear in the poorly cropped shot. So clearly something's going on.

Madonna's been called pretentious many times in her decades-long career, thanks in part to her come-and-go British accent and her glib use of words like "reductive." But when it comes to her music, Madonna can hardly be accused of going too highbrow: Her new single "Girl Gone Wild" is really only notable for its shameless party anthem lyrics ("I'm like hey-ey-ey / I'm like a girl gone wild"). The Queen of Pop released a lyrics video for "Girl Gone Wild" on Monday, giving fans a sneak peek at racy album artwork created by Mert and Marcus (the famed fashion photography duo have already filmed the song's music video, which is sure to feature Madonna in various states of undress). The Benny Benassi-produced song is typical club fare, save a nod to fellow '80s great Cyndi Lauper with the lyric, "Girls, they just wanna have some fun." The problem is it's not actually all that fun. 

Lindsay Lohan to Host 'Saturday Night Live

Lindsay Lohan is staging a comeback. For real this time. So how's she doing it? Well, the previously troubled starlet's starting with hosting Saturday Night Live on March 3. This will be the blonde's fourth time on the show, but her first since 2006. A lot has happened in her life in that six-year gap and we're guessing the folks at SNL will have no trouble finding material to write about for her sketches.

It sounds like Lohan is excited about the gig. She wrote on Twitter today: "SNL! I love @NBC!" Hopefully she'll still be as happy when facing jabs about her past on the show.

But, it sounds like all of those run-ins with the law and jail sentences are behind her. She's due back in court Wednesday, where she'll happily report she's finished another 15 hours of community service and five more psychotherapy sessions. If she stays on this path, her probation will end March 29.

Christina Aguilera was in rare form Saturday night. The singer wore a conservative (by her standards) skirt suit and teared up as she stood on stage at an L.A.-area church while telling hundreds of mourners of her admiration for the late Etta James.

The blonde delivered a heartfelt speech about her connection to the soul singer, who passed away at the age of 73 on January 20. Aguilera nervously explained her love for James and her music and told the crowd she's performed "At Last" at every single one of her concerts over the last 10 years. "I've aspired to sing like her, to be like her, to emulate her notes and her passion, and the love for what she did," Aguilera said before breaking out into song.
